Commissioning Service

Last Sunday my Commissioning Service was held at Christchurch. I was amazed and felt blessed that so many friends and family gave up their evening to attend and support me (it was so special also to have surprise VIP guests that 'attended' from Peru!)

Thanks to all who helped organise it and took part in the service and thank you for the lovely prayers and the beautiful song that were said & sung over me. It was a really special evening for me and there were lots of mixed emotions. It was a lovely service and brilliant that I had support from friends from so many local Churches.

It's exciting to have had the service which had always felt like a milestone and it's a great feeling to have now made the distance. It has served a significant and an important role in my journey to Uganda. The Commissioning service made me feel like I was being commissioned to really do something which will affect a vibrant ministry at GSF and within the local area I am going to work and serve in.

Now the journey begins...

Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

  1. Mum - do you remember this hymn -2 August 2011 at 00:07

I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin
    My hand will save.

I, who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
    Whom shall I send?

Here I am Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
